September Newsletter: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Hi folks,
The number six ingredient from my workshop, ‘Relieving Stress with Humour’ is healthy mental activity. Some of my favorite “shelf help” books offer me great insight everyday. Like Steven R. Covey’s ‘The 7 habits of highly effective people.’
It’s a classic!
It’s a classic!
Begin with the End in Mind
One of Covey’s habits is to begin with the end in mind.
When Covey says the end, he means THE end.
Covey suggests writing out your eulogy.
A personal mission statement
Covey says starting out with your eulogy gives you a personal mission statement to live up to. What is your ultimate objective? What do you want people to say about you at your funeral?
I hope it isn’t, “Hey, we’re out of party sandwiches!”
Steven R. Covey’s, ‘The 7 habits of highly effective people’ – a classic ‘shelf help’ pick.
Covey’s six other habits
– Be proactive
– Put first things first
– Think win-win
– Seek first to understand, then to be understood
– Synergize
– Sharpen the Saw
Engage your audience
The #1 ingredient from my workshop Relieving Stress with Humour is a positive attitude.
A positive attitude includes humour. It’s so important, I put it as number one on the list.
I like to surround myself with smart and funny people.
Here I chat with comedians, bloggers and a social media guru about ‘engaging the audience’.
Dogstar
The #5 ingredient for relieving stress is family and friends. Those friends include animals. Animals are a terrific way to relieve stress.
I have a regular segment on my website called Dogstar. Finding homes for all creatures great and small through various links and testimonials.
Here’s a great story about Lisa, Bazi, Petfinder and Hope4Animals.org
