Here is the press release if you want to know more about Scott and why we’re doing this.
Scott Way loved to laugh!
So when 49-year-old Scott, who lived with schizophrenia, passed away suddenly in January, comedian Carolyn Bennett wanted to honour her Alberta relative’s memory in a fitting way.

“Scott was a fun-loving guy,” says Bennett. “He had a great sense of humour and was always cracking jokes to make other people feel at ease. It’s sad because he had just moved into his own apartment to live independently.”
The “Laughs For Scott” comedy benefit features some of Canada’s best stand-up comedians. Proceeds will go to benefit the Schizophrenia Society of Canada whose mission is to improve the quality of life for those affected by schizophrenia and psychosis.
“The show will put a face to schizophrenia, raise awareness and help de-stigmatized people’s attitudes and actions towards people living with mental illness,” says Chris Summerville, CEO of the Schizophrenia Society of Canada.
